Description

A solid wood chess set that folds in half and becomes its own box. The pieces are magnetic, so they stay on their squares when the board is moved or the game is put aside for tomorrow.

  • In the box: the folding board and 32 magnetic wooden chess pieces. Chess & checkers adds a set of checkers.
  • Inside the board: black velvet lining with a fitted slot for every piece; each piece has a green felt base.
  • Natural or dark wood edge.
  • About 1.4 kg packed (1.5 kg with checkers).
  • Wipe with a dry cloth; keep away from water and direct heat.

Shown for styling only and not included: the Wynden Home display stand, food and other props in the photos.

Shipping & returns

Free delivery to the US in 8–18 business days. Duty is prepaid, so nothing is collected on delivery. You have thirty days to send it back; if it arrives damaged, we replace it.

Board and box in one

Open it, turn it over, play.

  1. Open the box. Every piece lies in its own velvet slot.
  2. Take them out. Thirty-two pieces, nothing loose in the box.
  3. Turn the board over. The outside of the box is the board.
  4. Set them up. Magnets hold each piece on its square.
Why chess

A game people have played for some 1,400 years.

No dice, no cards, no luck: every result comes from the moves the two players choose. That is why it has lasted.
